Another Visit from Jon and Amber

While a couple of weeks have now passed since Jon and Amber visited us for a second time (with just over a week between visits), I have some fun photos to share.

Carter and Jack sported matching camo pants and posed for a picture in them.

Amber and I took the kids to the State Fair. It started out well in the Miracle of Birth building. Trevor wanted to get in with the animals!




As everyone does at the fair, we ate too much! Why, oh why must they make their portions so huge! I think this was three whole potatoes???!!!

We also indulged in cheese curds, pronto pup, funnel cake, chocolate covered bacon...it would've been more but a person gets too full! I suggest a State Fair sampler: a small portion of several different things. Maybe you buy a 10-item sampler and go around to choose your food. What do you think?

Trevor enjoyed the fair for most of the time, including his debut as a WCCO anchorman. Future career? We'll see, though I recommend against it based on my own experience!



We stayed at the fair for about five hours, which is a long time for a four year old! Trevor did get a little sassy by the end, as evidenced by this photo.


While we enjoyed ourselves at the fair (among other fun activities), the guys were hard at work on the house.

When Jon left last time, the kitchen was empty.

By the time Jon left, we had a real (if not fully-functional) kitchen.

We also now have a fan in our bathroom, thanks to Duane! He has been such a great help on the house. What an active, hard working guy. If he had a day off work he didn't take it easy like most people would. He came to work at our house instead!

Trevor was excited that Uncle Vance let him play with Ironman. For those of you who recall my previous Ironman posts, we now have four Ironmen. The one Trevor got to play with is not one of the expensive ones. But this one lights up and talks, which is quite entertaining for a four year old!

Trevor always wants to help when the adults are working. He's at an age where he can actually contribute! He asked to use the dustbuster and was surprised and pleased when I told him he could turn it on and actually use it! We were the pleased ones when he vacuumed up dust from all the cabinets. What a busy bee!

While most of the house is not yet complete, we do have a beautiful new travertine foyer, courtesy of Jon. Now the challenge will be to keep it looking great while the remainder of the work is completed.

Next on our agenda is to have the hardwoods sanded and refinished next week. After that, Jon will return for a brief visit to finish a few additional projects. Chris plans to paint this week once we finish color selection. We should have this project finished in about three weeks!
