Jon & Amber's Visit (Part Three)

It has been almost a week since Jon, Amber, Trevor, and Carter left after an action-packed eight day visit. Here are a few more photos...

This may have been obvious to some, but I have learned an important lesson: don't go to the museum on free day. Your sanity is worth the $9 entry fee.

Trevor quickly bonded with Melissa and posed nicely as she took photos.

We made a quick visit to the Mall of America, where Trevor went on many rides including the bumper cars.

On Tuesday evening, Jon, Amber, Chris and I went out for dinner. Amber tried sushi for the first time. It was a shrimp tempura roll, so no raw fish, but she liked it so maybe she'll attempt something riskier next time!

What were Carter and Trevor doing while their parents enjoyed some adult time? Entertaining Melissa and Steve, who were kind enough to babysit!

...while Steve swam with Trevor. For three hours. What a guy! Trevor didn't want to pose for a photo with his new friends, but was so happy to have someone swim with him for such a long time!

With all the photos of and stories about Trevor swimming, you may be wondering if he convinced his mom to get in the pool with him.

With all of this fun, it is easy to forget why our guests were there in the first place! Construction went well (although it was mostly destruction) and we are living without a kitchen for a few days, hoping that won't turn into weeks.

Remodeling photos will be posted separately, but I couldn't resist posting this one of Chris peeking down from the attic.

With Jon for a dad, is anyone surprised that Trevor loves tools? He really took to the measuring tape and measured everything he could find!

Amber asked me not to post this, but I just had to show how they were loaded up like a bunch of cabbage pickers (as my mom would say).


You can't really tell from the photo, but the back end is packed to the gills. Carter is waving from inside the pickup. :)

We hope the Healys will be back to finish up the project (we need a kitchen!) within a week or so. Stay tuned for more!
